Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Promptrace (the “Service”), a free AI prompt builder, scorer, and library available at promptrace.ai. The Service is operated by Granite Digital (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The service

Promptrace helps you build, score, and rewrite prompts for third-party AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney, and others. There is no user account. Scoring and prompt composition run entirely in your browser. The optional “Tweak with AI” rewrite feature sends your prompt text to Google Vertex AI (Gemini) for rewriting and returns the result.

We may change, add, or remove features at any time. The Service is provided on an “as-is” basis and we make no promise of continuous availability.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or older if required by the laws of your country). By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

Cost and rate limits

The Service is free to use. There is no paid tier. To keep it free and sustainable, the AI rewrite endpoint enforces rate limits per IP address and a global daily cap. If you hit a limit the endpoint will return an error and you can try again later.

You must not attempt to bypass, overwhelm, or evade these rate limits, and you must not use the Service in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• generate, request, or distribute content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes the rights of others;
• build prompts intended to produce sexual content involving minors, targeted harassment, malware, or instructions for physical harm;
• attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or resell the Service or its outputs as your own product;
• probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or circumvent any security feature;
• use the Service to violate the terms of any third-party AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Midjourney, and others).

Your prompts and outputs

You keep ownership of the text you type into Promptrace and of the prompts the Service assembles for you. We do not claim any rights over your inputs or the generated prompts, and we do not store them after your request is served.

You are responsible for how you use the prompts and for any output the downstream AI tool produces. AI output can be wrong, biased, or offensive. Always review it before relying on it.

Our intellectual property

The Promptrace name, logo, site design, source code, scoring algorithm, and the curated prompt library are the intellectual property of Granite Digital and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use individual library prompts for your personal or business use, but you may not copy the library as a whole, republish the site, or pass off the Service as your own.

Third-party services

The Service links out to third-party AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney, Ideogram, Flux, and others) and uses Google Vertex AI to power the rewrite feature. Once you click through to a third-party tool you are subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

Advertising

The Service is funded by display advertising delivered by Google AdSense. Ads may be personalised based on your browsing history. See our privacy policy for details on how advertising cookies are used and how to opt out.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores and rewrites will meet your expectations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Granite Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Granite Digital from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these terms or of any third-party rights.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jersey, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
